Great Black and White Photographers pt 2
My favorite black and white photographer out of the three I picked is Ansel Adams because I really like taking pictures of landscape and I think that if you find a really good landscape and take a picture of it, the picture will come out really pretty.
Ansel Adams was born to a family of great wealth and success. He was born on February 20, 1902 in San Francisco, California and died on August 22,1984 in Monterey, California. He lived in California all his life, but his family had come from New England in the 1700s.
When Adams was young, he kept getting kicked out of private school because of bad behavior. At the age of 12, Adams was being taught by private tutors and members of his family at home. When it was time for Ansel Adams to go to college, he attended Yale and Harvard. He was a very smart man, and he achieved well in his career.
Adams first job was a lumberer. His grandfather founded a lumbering business, which he later inherited. In 1916, Ansel Adams went on a trip to Yosemite National Park and that is when he started to experiment with photography. While in the photography business, he met is wife, Virginia Best, whose father owned an studio. After the death of Virginia's father, she had inherited the studio as well as Ansel.
Ansel Adams himself didn't publish any books, but know there are books that consist of his photos. I could understand why he didn't publish any books, but he took a a certain photo right before WWll and the photo became really popular and he had become financially stabilized because everyone was wanting to use his picture.
