Runner Up Videos

1. Alyssa Schukar
-People in their environment
-Short from the distance, Same lense, Same feel
-Difference between emotions and colors
-I really liked the pictures although some of them seemed plain and simple.

2. Nick Adams
-Experiences in the youth and the adults
-Out of focus photos, Too much cropping, the pictures all looked the same
-The places that the eyes move throughout the photo, journalistic
-The pictures were amazing and viewing them was really fun

3. Carlos Delgado
-A woman who is paralyzed
-The RGB is bad, not interesting to look at, boring colors
-Quality backgrounds, good looking clouds
-Some photos were nice but a lot of them seemed to look the same

Portfolio Winning Critique
The judges liked if not all, most of the pictures and they really liked the story for the photos. The expressions on people's faces were outstanding. The thing that really bothered me the most is that some of the pictures were blurry.

Contest Recap
In order for the judges to pick the winning photos, first they have to look at all the portfolios. Then they have to eliminate all the 'bad' photos. After that, they have to critique all the photos that are left. Lastly, they choose the top photos.

Parts 1-6
The very first photo the judges don't like the photo because it is blurry and very unoriginal. I agree with what they say about this because there are so many pictures of a man riding a sled on the internet.

There is a picture of a girl and a goose, the judges thought it a good picture but personally, I don't think there is anything spontaneous about a girl with a goose.

A. What is the most powerful image from the pictures printed in the Denver Post over the three weeks they published images from the year of coverage? Why? I think the most powerful image was the picture on 22A because it is a picture of Ian Fisher sitting all alone looking down thinking about how this is going to be the rest of his life. The picture is just really moving because the way I interpret it sends me a strong message. B. How do the images work together to tell a story? School Uniforms For this topic I could possibly interview a member of the board who decided to enforce the uniforms, I could interview the principal that works at the school where the uniforms are being enforced, and I could interview a staff member/ high ranked teachers that works at the school where the uniforms are being put into place.
