Africa and Abandoned Theme Parks

Africa

1. Reading this article had me feeling very shocked because of the message that was thrown across. I didn't really feel very interested by the beginning of this article but by the end, I  felt like had to know more about this topic. The part that moved me the most was the fact that when he first drove down a road, there were SO many animals roaming wildly. It was 13 years that he traveled that same road again and saw NO animals. He was very interested in photographing these African Animals which made the interview fun to read.

2 & 3.

This is by far my most favorite picture taken by Nick Brandt. I really like this because the mother lion looks so strong and confident. The mother is hesitating for one moment. I also like the picture because the little cub that's in the mother mouth is so cute. The cub is so tiny and his mom is looking after him. There is no fear in either of them and that makes the picture really strong. This image is empowering.

4. The rules of photography that are in this photo is Rule of Thirds because my eyes were directly drawn to the upper right side. The direct focus is the cub in the lion's mouth. I don't see any others rules.

5. Article I'm reading say that Nick uses and Pentax 67 Camera with modified lenses, typically an 85mm. It is important because he wants the best photos, but he doesn't want them to look fake.

6. Nick's reason for taking these pictures is that he just really likes taking pictures of Africa's animals because of how beautiful they are. He also takes these pictures because he wants to show what wild animals actually look like in their natural state and not behind a glass window.

7. The hope behind these photos are to try to get people to realize what the reality of animals are and how they look because of our human actions.

8. "There is also something deeply, emotionally stirring and affecting about the plains of Africa—those vast, green rolling plains punctuated by graphically perfect acacia trees under the huge skies."

Abandoned Theme Parks

1. I would want to visit the Spreepark in Berlin, Germany because the pictures of the theme park that I saw really intrigued me. The park didn't look to creepy and I didn't have any mixed feelings about that one. I would also want to visit this theme park because the scenery looked really pretty and the park didn't look that worn down. I feel like if I were to take pictures there, I would get some really good ones because the scenery is so pretty and there are so many things to take pictures of.

3. 5 unusual places that photographers might be interested in might be:
1.Junk Yards
2.Abandoned Churches
3.Barns
4.Abandoned Towns or Cities
5.Jungles

4.

5. I would LOVE to take pictures at abandoned churches because the chills and the feelings I would experience there would be amazing.  I'm interested in taking photos like this because you can see how time has aged the building. If I were to take pictures here, I think they would come out really beautiful and send a strong message. I think it would also be a really cool experience.

6. All I need in order to take these pictures are a camera, a transportation method, a location of the Church, some food, and extra money just in case. Some rules of photography are I would need to make sure that everything is focused and I would need some type of theme to follow.
