What are 3 advantages of RAW file:
-the file(s) are higher in dynamic range
-can be admissible in a court as evidence 
-proprietarily formatted 

What is one disadvantage of RAW file: 
-a RAW file image requires a special software to view the file(s). 

What are 3 advantages of JPEG file: 
-the file(s) will appear sharper 
-the file(s) are immediately suitable for printing   
-the file(s) are not needing to be corrected a large amount of the time 

What is one disadvantage of JPEG file: 
-the file(s) will come out lower in dynamic range

1. Under the first heading "Capturing the Images," how much of the data does a RAW file retain after it is captured by the camera?
A RAW file captures all the information without compressing the photo and preserves all the pixels. 

2. Under the second heading "Processing the Files," what are some of the things that a RAW file enables a photographer to edit after the image is taken? 
The photographer has editing control over the white balance, contrast, highlights, shadows, colors, and saturation rather then letting the camera doing it altogether. 

3. Under the third heading "Practicalities," what are some of the factors that photographers must consider when deciding to shoot in RAW?
Photographer must consider that the RAW file size is much larger than a JPEG file size so space on the memory card gets filled up faster. Photographers must also be aware that they should convert their RAW files to JPEGs. 

4. Under the fourth heading "Which one is for you?" why would an aspiring professional photographer need to know how to work with RAW files? 

An aspiring professional photographer needs to know how to work with RAW files because the photos will need to be edited carefully and that will take some time. 

1. Which file formats discussed have you used in the past? 
In the past, I have only used JPEG and RAW file formats. 

2. What is the difference between a Raster and a Vector file?
The difference between a Raster and a Vector file is that a Raster file is composed of pixels while vector files are composed of paths. 

1. Is this format lossy or lossless? 
JPEG is lossy, .tiff is lossless, and .psd is lossless. 

2. What are common uses for each? By this I mean where would I publish each of them for the highest quality.
JPEG is ideal for saving photos, .psd is adobe photoshop file format, .tif is mainly used for archival of color. 

3. Can you create this type of file in your camera? 
I think I can create most of these file types on my camera.
