http://petapixel.com/2014/12/31/10-photography-resolutions-new-year/ On this website I saw some really cool photos that I admired a lot. I also learned a couple tips from this website. The things I learned from this website is things like don't be afraid to come out of your comfort zone and every photo that you take isn't always going to be perfect. The photos that I saw were very inspiring because they had such cool affects to them and I liked what they looked like. My favorite photo from this website is the first photo that's black and white and has sparkler affects. The new thing that I learned is that it's okay to use photo shop and it's really not a big deal. I picked this photo because it's my favorite from this website. I see the rule of simplicity because there is no chaos going on in the background. I'm going to say that Jenna Martin took this photo. http://petapixel.com/2014/12/01/6-types-photos-know-make/ On this website, I saw some re...

Local Austin Photographer

Image
I was looking through google and I had found this one Local Austin Photographer that I really liked. The name of the photographer is Tara Welch and she is a wedding photographer. I tried going to her website, unfortunately, the AISD network blocked the website. I did get to see some of the photos that she has taken and they are so pretty. I really like her photography style because the way she takes the pictures makes it look like that picture was the easiest thing to do, and in fact, it's not. The color scheme in her photos are so vibrant and it really catches the eye. The pictures look like they were taken in front of a rainbow because the colors are so strong. The method or target of photography that Tara uses is not one of the easiest targets to aim for, but the way she photographs other people looks so easy. In my opinion, I would not aim for such a hard target. Overall, Tara'a pictures are so amazing and truly a piece of art. I like this photo because everything stands...

Magazines pt 2

1.  Image based magazine covers are the most popular, not  many people are in it and there isn't much activity going on. Usually, there  is a celebrity on the cover to gather more people to buy the magazines. The magazine covers are used in almost all fashion, gossip and mens magazines. The cover corresponds with the style of the publication which means if your shooting a fashion magazine use clothes as your subject. 2.  Illustration Based covers are drawn or generated on the computer. Illustration covers are used to add a different effect on the magazine or to add something out of the ordinary. Mostly all of the magazine companies that use this cover don't have to have newsstand sales. 3.  Type Based covers are not the go to cover. The approach isn't always used but these covers are used more than illustrated covers. On the cover, the text uses  almost all of the space and can send powerful messages or strong meanings of symbolism that will stand o...

My Favorite Cover

Image
The New York Times Magazine, November 24, The Flight Risk Photographer: Martin Schoeller Designer: Arem Duplessis "For this cover story on the U.S. women’s ski-jumping team, we featured the Olympic hopeful Sarah Hendrickson as photographed by Martin Schoeller. Schoeller captures the competitive spirit of Hendrickson, who wears her competition gear, in her body posture and intense gaze." Description: In the picture above, Sarah looks very confident and happy about being on the Women's U.S. Olympic Ski team. Sarah stands out in this photo because the background is a solid color and her uniform perfectly contrasts with it. The lighting in the picture is very, very good, you can see every little detail about this photo. The photo is very calm looking and there is no action going on in the background that would easily get people distracted from the main subject. Everything about this magazine cover is perfect, it follows all the "rules" needed for a magazine...

Magazine Tips

5 things that I would definitely consider when creating my magazine cover would be 1. The cover must be interesting and grab all the viewer's attention. 2. The picture that is going on the cover must be very high quality and detailed. 3. I don't want to make the cover very full of text, but I don't want to make the cover contain little text either. 4. Don't cut out any part of the photo that played a big part of the detail. 5. Make sure that everything is formatted and aligned correctly.

American Soldier

A. What is the most powerful image from the pictures printed in the Denver Post over the three weeks they published images from the year of coverage? Why? I think the most powerful image was the picture on 22A because it is a picture of Ian Fisher sitting all alone looking down thinking about how this is going to be the rest of his life. The picture is just really moving because the way I interpret it sends me a strong message. B. How do the images work together to tell a story? These images work together to tell a story by showing Ian's journey form where he first began to where he finished his army journey. It has showed how much he matured over his time that he has served our country. C. How do the captions enhance the photographs? The captions enhance the photographs by adding more detail and sending more of a message than the actual story itself can tell. D. Summarize the story of Ian Fisher, based just on the captions. Ian Fisher is beginning to start his career...
